Tribù at Waikiki Edition in Honolulu

Waikiki Edition is the first hotel of a potential 100 new properties of the new Edition hotel brand, conceived by Ian Schrager (the legendary hotelier who revolutionised the travel industry with his creation of the boutique hotel genre) and Marriott International. Each highly stylized hotel will offer a personal, intimate and unique lodging experience, reflecting the best of the cultural and social milieu of its location.

Housed in the former Yacht Harbor Tower of Honolulu, Waikiki Edition reads as intimate, relaxed and ‘un-designed’ but with a sophisticated edge. In keeping with their less is more style, interior designers Yabu Pushelberg opted for a fresh and airy design plan, a refined nod to 1960s Hawaiian nostalgia. Outside, there are two spectacular pool decks. The Sunrise pool, located on the second floor and looking out over the harbor, features Ipe wood decking with an upscale pool bar tucked off to the side. A series of planters have been implemented to create a shaded canopy alongside the pool deck. Botanic teak sunbeds with white cushions from the TRIBÙ versus collection surround the pool and make for an inviting poolside. One level up is the private Sunset Beach were the round, lagoon-like pool is surrounded by imported sand from neighboring Hawaiian islands sand and palm trees.
